Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director to provide EEG/ECG services to properly identified patients of all ages. Responsibilities include preparation of patients, the conduction of various neurodiagnostic procedures and the collection of data relevant to the interpretation of the tests. Performs routine and complex neurodiagnostic testing as ordered by the physician, adapting appropriate methods and instrumentations to obtain optimal results. Always demonstrates Service Excellence. Performs other duties as assigned.

Performs neurologic diagnostic procedures utilizing electroencephalogram (EEG) equipment. Performs electrocardiogram (EKG) and cardiac stress tests utilizing EKG and/or Stress equipment. Able set up and download Holter Monitors. Deliver safe and accurate patient care to those patients.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft office products or comparable product.

2. Must have GED or high school diploma.

3. Registered by the American Board for Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET).

4. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.

2. New hires as of March 17, 2017 must successfully complete in-house course for EKG certification within six months of hire, and update with renewed competency no less than every two years.

3. Must be a graduate of an accredited program for EEG technologists or equivalent.

4. Registered by the American Board for Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET).

5. Must have and maintain current BLS certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider's Program.
