College of Medicine, Finance Business Center:

The College of Medicine, Office of Administration and Finance oversees the budget, supervises human resources, ensures the availability and maintenance of appropriate facilities, and sees that resources are spent appropriately and effectively to manage the college.

The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) Finance Business Center is seeking qualified candidates for a Budget Analyst II position. The responsibility of this position is to monitor and perform professional-level accounting duties and financial analysis for a growing Graduate Management Education [GME] program. The GME program is under a consortium agreement which includes four Health Care Associate Health Care Inc., hospitals. The program includes rotations of residents at the Veterans Administration Hospital [VA] under a different agreement.

Responsibilities:


  • Detailed monthly analyses are required to track cost by specialty for each hospital location including the VA.

  • Reconcile Graduate Medical Education monthly payments and expenses, prepare monthly forecast analysis for hospital locations by specialty, reconcile GME residents' rotations at the VA, and bill them for those rotations. Complete salary cost transfers [SCTs] for residents by rotating at different hospital rotations. Assist with the development of the annual GME budget.

  • Review and approve daily credit card transactions and requisitions within Workday financials. Reconcile monthly bank statements for assigned Pcard holders and submit their statements to the UCF Pcard Office. Review and submit for approval purchase requests and UCF Foundation Authorization requests submitted by our procurement individuals through our Forms Management System.

  • Assist with the processing of payroll for our College Administration and Finance group on a rotation basis. Monitor and assist with the post-award activity of grants by requesting to have personnel and payroll changes done through ePAF and funding change requests respectively. Complete SCTs and Interdepartmental transfers timely to make sure projects are closed effectively.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. This will include but is not limited to timely completion of required university and college training & updates.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.

  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

  • Ability to prepare annual reports, evaluate budget proposals, and analyze data to determine the costs and benefits of various programs.

  • Ability to work with anyone at any level across the institution and maintain a professional, helpful, pleasant interaction.

  • Ability to use computer systems to support, configure, run reports, enter data, or process information.

  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to work closely with leaders to support the resolution of financial issues.
