Nursing Education Scholarship for Hispanic Students
LatPro to fund scholarship through the National Association of Hispanic Nurses
In the United States, there is currently a significant shortage of multicultural, Spanish-speaking personnel in health professions. This is particularly evident in the field of nursing, where Hispanics are vastly underrepresented at a mere 2 percent of the nursing workforce (in stark contrast to the 14.2 percent represented by Hispanics in the total U.S. population).
To address this disparity, it is crucial for nursing schools to attract more Spanish-speaking students to their programs, and to make such education more accessible to students with limited financial resources.
To support this effort, LatPro has joined with the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) to create a new scholarship program that will provide financial assistance to Hispanic students pursuing nursing degrees. Funded by LatPro, the scholarship will be administered and awarded to deserving students through NAHN.
