Hackers Attack Large Hadron Collider
A team of hackers calling themselves the Greek Security Team has penetrated the Large Hadron Collider and defaced a public CERN website. No real damage was done, but the hackers were "one step away" from the computer control system for one of the huge detectors of the machine, a giant magnet weighing 12,500 tons.


Researchers Find Enclave of Endangered Gorillas
An estimated 125,000 Western lowland gorillas are living in a swamp in equatorial Africa, researchers have reported. This is double the number of the endangered primates previously thought to survive worldwide.
