Description

Purpose:

The Human Resources Senior Manager works in partnership with the HR Directors and the Vice President of Human Resources in the management and execution of HR services, policies, and programs in support of assigned client groups. Partners with Human Resources staff, and supports business plan as directed by the Vice President of Human Resources. Provides guidance to company leadership and employees concerning personnel actions/issues. Supports functional areas of employee relations, performance management, talent management, training, HRIS, policy and procedure compliance and facility communications. The Human Resources Senior Manager encourages a high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Essential Duties:

• Performs comprehensive HR Generalist functions in support of assigned client groups, ensuring HR is aligned with business initiatives.

• Must exhibit a strong customer focused approach in order to build alliances with management, consult and develop strategies regarding, talent, staffing, management development programs and organization development.

• Leads performance management process and provides subject matter expertise and guidance in support of employee relations issues, corrective actions and performance improvement process.

• Counsels with management/HR partners on associate discipline and termination issues to ensure appropriate steps and consistency.

• Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.

• Provides mediation for associate and management who are at an impasse due to misunderstanding or miscommunication.

• Perform exit interviews with departing associates and assist supervisors with the associate separation process in order to determine and make recommendation regarding improvement objectives.

• Recruits and builds a high performance team for the organization. Ensures that the integrity of all recruiting processes and standards for hiring remain at the highest level.

• Ensures on-boarding of new hires is consistent with Polo Ralph Lauren policies and methodology.

• Trains, coaches and champions key human resources initiative as it relates to Compensation Administration, Benefits Administration, Orientation/On-Boarding and Performance Management procedures and processes.

• Develops and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.

• Assists managers with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants.

• Assess organization to determine gaps and needs for training programs and business learning needs. Develop and facilitate programs.

• Drives regional process improvement initiatives, both day to day and project specific, making recommendation regarding new approaches, policies or procedures.

• Drive plans that create a culture that values employees and effectively manages change.

• Participates in departmental and client group staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

• Drive initiatives aimed at creating, effectively managing, valuing, retaining, and leveraging a diverse workforce.

• Ensures that plans and actions (for self and others) support the overall corporate strategy

• Establish workload priorities and provide a clear sense of direction for the team

• Administers and maintains the organization’s standards, policies, and procedures

• Conduct presentations and meetings as required.

• Travel as required.

• Other duties as assigned; essential duties may change depending on business needs.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 4-year college degree preferred in HR, Business, Behavioral Science, or a related field.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience working in an HR related field preferred.

• Human Resources certifications and continuing education courses highly desired.

• Five or more years working in a leadership position, experience in a distribution center or manufacturing facility a plus.

• Must have experience with all aspects of HR, including performance management, total compensation/benefits management, employee relations, recruiting, problem resolution, training and organizational development, and safety management.

• Knowledge of basic human resources laws, policies, processes and programs to include FMLA, ADA, FLSA, HIPAA, OSHA, EEO, Affirmative Action, etc.

• Experience maintaining a positive employee relations environment.

• Strong presentation and communication skills.

• Must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization as well as within Human Resources.

• Must be able to prioritize and identify critical projects requiring immediate attention.

• Must maintain a collaborative relationship with HR management team and effectively communicate any concerns, status of projects and issues as they may occur in order to mitigate any operational risks.

• Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.

• Highly proficient in MS Office software, including Excel, Word and Power Point.

• Must have the proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures; written and verbal instruction and meet required schedules and/or deadlines.

• Proven track record in an HR Business Partner/HR Generalist role is required.

• Must have a working knowledge of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) (Lawson preferred) and have worked with an AT System (Hodes).

• Familiarity with the Kronos time keeping system is preferred.
