Manager, Performance Improvement

Job Summary:
The Manager will be responsible for designing and managing production of member reports, presenting and interpreting member data analysis, and conducting original research using internal and external resource information to identify benchmark practices and opportunities for improvement. The Manager will work closely with member hospitals and colleagues to provide project management support, including clinical, operational and financial analysis, tracking, monitoring, and managing business solutions and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, facilitates, implements and delivers educational and networking programs and activities for member hospitals, conduct research and analysis for benchmarking initiatives and identification and sharing of better practice models
- Coordinates the development and production of deliverables, e.g., data gathering, validation, data entry, analysis, effective presentation production, reports, member assessments and case studies
- Documents project reports, case studies on leading practices and presents to senior leadership teams and clinical work groups
- Makes strategic recommendations to internal and external member teams
- Develops, compiles and distributes standardized reporting for/to members integrating comparative financial, clinical and operational data and working collaboratively to obtain member performance improvement
- Supports VHA colleagues in data gathering, member and market research, analysis and interpretation, working with multiple projects simultaneously and within a project management framework
- Develops methodologies and recommendations for a variety of member performance improvement opportunities, which requires considerable technical, operational and/or clinical cross-functional expertise
- Interacts with internal and external clients to gather and analyze data
Requirements:
- Bachelors required; Masters degree in health care or related field or equivalent training and experience preferred
- Prior consulting experience is preferred
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years work in an acute care hospital setting is preferred
- Experience with process improvement tools, e.g., Six Sigma, Lean or other methodologies
- Strong project management, organizational skills and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills and experience in speaking to groups and individuals in multiple settings
- Travel will average 20% and be predominantly regional (New England) with some national
