(SOSi) is seeking Spanish Linguists to monitor, translate, transcribe and interpret communications in English and Spanish on temporary, project-based assignments throughout the New York and Newark, New Jersey areas for 30 to 90 days at a time.Current/Active clearance from DoD, DHS, DOE, or any other Federal Agency preferred. Non-cleared, qualified candidates may be sponsored for a government security clearance.. Monitors, translates, transcribes, and interprets a varying number of communications intercepts during any given shift. Performs quality control validating services on completed assignments. Provides reliable and accurate transcriptions, translation, or interceptions and/or summaries of source materials or intercepts into English. Understands and complies with Court regulations concerning minimization procedures and may attend trainings on this subject. Performs other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements. U.S. citizenship. Good credit and the ability to pass a criminal background investigation. Willing to submit to random polygraph testing. 3 years of translation experience OR a Bachelor''s degree from an accredited U.S. institution in lieu of experience. Ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM. Excellent command of English and the ability to produce clear, concise oral and written work. Proficiency with a variety of storage media (audio cassettes, video cassettes, digital media). Understanding of slang and colloquial expressions in Spanish, and ability to translate them into English. Must pass oral and language evaluations in both Spanish and EnglishAdditional InformationWork Environment:. Working conditions normal for office environment. Shift work and non traditional hours are required
