Description

Sodexo is seeking a General Manager / Chef Manager for a corporate account located in Plainsboro, NJ. The successfull candidate for this position will assume lead management role at the account. The GM/Chef Manager will direct and participate in all of the daily food service operations for the full service Cafe (serving breakfast, lunch and dinner) and limited Catering services for a building population of ____. Responsibilities will include: menu planning, food preparation, unit financials/budgets including P&L financials, HR functions, marketing to increase cafe sales, strategic planning, food and labor cost, cash management and control, training, ensuring safety and sanitation guidelines, customer interaction and direct supervision of 2 hourly associates.

The successful candidate will have at least 1-2 years lead food management experience, ability to multi-task, solid financial acumen, strong culinary ability, computer literacy as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills. Prior management experience in corporate dining would be a plus for this role.

Senior-most person assigned to a one client account. Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. Hires and trains unit personnel. This is a single incumbent position for a small account where there is no Chef. Reports to DM.

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years
