Description |
We are looking for someone who is willing to come to us in August and stay 6 months to a year. We are looking for someone who is truly interested in being a part of our family and who can help us out with childcare duties such as dropping off and picking up the girls from school, taking them to and from their various activities, supervising homework and reading, and occasionally preparing light meals and snacks for the girls, preparing meals twice a week for the family, keeping the children's areas clean. Most importantly, we would prefer someone who speaks fluent English and Spanish who can converse with the girls in Spanish. The girls go to a Spanish language school, are both fluent in Spanish. We want them to use their Spanish speaking skills at home so we would like someone who could speak to them in primarily Spanish and work with them to improve their speaking skills. Our current nanny is doing a great job with this and engages the girls primarily in Spanish and translates for the adults as necessary. The ideal candidate would be a flexible, patient, tidy, organized and hard-working individual. We want you to be more than someone who just works for us; we want you to be part of our family and to be involved in the things our family does. We need someone who can take initiative and problem solve. You must have a valid driver's license. This position would be ideal for a person wishing to live in the Seattle area. Spring and summer in Seattle is wonderful but the late fall and winter can be hard to adjust to. It does rain here a lot. The children are very important to us and we need a nanny that we can trust, someone who will put the kids first and help us raise them. The children need a firm but kind hand. Sometimes they can be perfectly behaved and other times perfectly misbehaved. The ideal nanny would be able to set limits and follow through with consequences for bad behavior and find ways to encourage and reward good behavior.
