We have an opportunity available for an Environmental Specialist to be based in our North American headquarters in St. Louis.
Overview
Provide support, assistance and direction for Bunge's environmental management initiatives and activities.
Essential Functions
Support the development and monitoring of environmental management activities (e.g., compliance, performance metrics improvements, procedures, guidance, etc.)
Prepare environmental permit applications (e.g., air, wastewater, storm water)
Coordinate air emission testing and prepare emission inventory reports
Prepare oil spill prevention plans and storm water pollution prevention plans
Provide environmental training to facility employees as needed
Coordinate environmental due diligence activities (e.g., Phase I & II ESAs)
Understand and communicate environmental regulatory requirements
Coordinate investigation and remediation of soil and ground water contamination
Conduct environmental audits of facilities
Promote and coordinate environmental sustainability activities
Provide selection and operational guidance on wastewater treatment systems and air pollution control equipment

Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline is required with a minimum of five years of environmental management experience
Professional and working knowledge of U.S. environmental regulations and laws is required. Some knowledge of Canadian and Mexican environmental regulations and laws preferred
Professional and working knowledge of wastewater treatment systems and air pollution control equipment. Experience in the design and operation of dissolved air flotation treatment systems is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Must demonstrate initiative and possess the ability to work independently
Must possess leadership and people management skills. Previous management experience is advantageous
Fluency in English required, fluency in Spanish preferred
Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders, squat, stoop, sit, bend, twist and lift a minimum of 25 lbs
Ability to travel approximately 30%
