Job Description
***Supplemental/PRN Mayo employee is not eligible for benefits and there is no guarantee of hours. ***
Assists pathologists in the preparation and performance of human surgical specimen dissection and performance of human postmortem examinations. Assists with and/or performs gross dictation of complex surgical specimens. As directed by supervising pathologist(s) or administrator, may assume other responsibilities including supervisory and teaching duties.The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. May be responsible for handling chemicals and/or reagents including chemical hazardous waste materials.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science related field. Biology background. Two to five years working as a certified Pathologist's Assistant. Communication skills. Strong problem solving capabilities and accountability.
Other Qualifications:
***Internal applicants are required to attach their three most recent performance appraisals.***
License or Certification:
A.A.P.A. (American Association of Pathologists Assistants)Certification. Experience working as a Pathologists Assistant. Eligible for A.A.P.A certification.

Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: As needed.
Weekend Schedule: As needed.
Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $36.42 per hour
