All NCS teachers work as team members for planning, teaching, and assessment. Classes are multi-age and learning is centered around teacher-developed thematic curricula, the California Common Core Standards, and student interests & needs.As a team teacher in our school, you will:* be a thoughtful, active member of our learning community, * facilitate the development of autonomy in each your students, * grow professionally and improve your practice as part of a teaching team, * use your knowledge of English & Spanish to inspire and challenge your students to become bilingual and biliterate, * collaborate with the parents, teachers, and community members in order to implement our schools mission, * take on leadership roles in the school, sharing administrative responsibilities.Candidates for this position must:* hold (or be eligible to obtain) a validSingle Subject California Teaching Credential in Mathematics or a Multiple Subject with supplementary math * be committed to the principles of constructivism and critical pedagogy * be bilingual and biliterate (English and Spanish),BCLAD preferred * work creatively with parents to build meaningful connections between school, family life, and our community * have at least two years teaching experience, preferredSalary: Competitive, DOECalendar: Modified traditional [8-week summer], 2-week August pre-service Professional Development Institute for training and planning, 193 work days including regular school days, conference days, and Professional DevelopmentApply To This Job
