Quality, safety, and patient satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do! We are currently seeking a dedicated Communications Specialist to join our Interpreter team at Cape Cod Hospital. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Facilitates effective communications services and communication between clinicians and patients and facilities within Cape Cod Healthcare for whom English is not the primary language. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Medical Interpreter course required. Must have proof of successfully completed minimum 40 hours Medical Interpreter Course. Must be a trained/qualified Medical Interpreter. National certification preferred. Fluency in English and one or more foreign languages, both oral and written, with a minimum of Advanced Mid proficiency level according to ACTFL -http://w.actfl.org/files/public/Guidelinesspeak.pdf Ability to accurately work in consecutive mode and sight translate into and from working language(s). Must speak both fluent English and Spanish. Trilingual candidates preferred. Proficient computer skills required. Translator Course preferred. High level of customer service and a positive approach. Good interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills Familiarity and ability to work with diversity of cultural/socio-economic background.
