The HR Assistant is accountable for all administrative and reporting responsibilities related to the HR Department (salary and benefit administration, EEO/AAP reporting, and required monthly reporting). Additional responsibilities may include non-exempt and hourly recruitment, wellness program implementation, safety, health and welfare programs and process first aid arrangements for medical care for all work related injuries. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Enter information into, manage and track, and pull reports from hourly attendance and timekeeping database for approximately 190 hourly employees. * Plan, coordinate and facilitate various training programs to include required safety training. Maintain training plans and training budgets for the plant. * Translate required notifications, policies, training programs, coaching/counseling sessions, interviews, and employee communication meetings. * Coordinate hourly recruiting, internal job posting, and conduct onboarding and new hire orientation. * Compile monthly and annual statistics and prepare of various reports. * Process routine hourly pay adjustments. * Provide support as needed to temporary staffing vendor to ensure effective orientation and management of approximately 100 temporary employees. * Electronically file unemployment for 50 - 100 employees on layoff during slow season and follow-up on any subsequent issues. * Generate ideas for and coordinate employee relations activities that foster employee morale and interaction. Spend time walking the production floor, facilitate conflict resolution and provide coaching and feedback as appropriate. Requirements An associates degree coupled with at least one to two years of HR or related experience. Demonstrated problem-solving and advanced communications and organizational skills with intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated experience managing conflict with grace and tact and maintaining confidentiality. Bilingual in English and Spanish required. Preferred requirements: A Bachelors degree with one to two years of HR experience.
