Box 8910Vancouver, WA 98668-8910Website:http://w.evergreenps.orgOpening Date:04/16/2013 Closing Date:04/22/2013OR UNTIL QUALIFIED CANDIDATE IS IDENTIFIED AND APPOINTED TO THE POSITIONJob No.9308Job Type:CertificatedClick Here To Apply For This Job !POSITION TITLE: BILINGUAL SPANISH READING SPECIALIST1.0 FTEMARRION ELEMENTARY SCHOOLDESCRIPTION - RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide reading instruction to small groups of students in grades K-5 in both Spanish and English. * Attend required professional development sessions and meetings. * Work collaboratively and collegially with the Title 1 team and classroom teachers. * Complete all program records in an accurate and timely manner. * Assist in the screening process and placement of students in the Title I/LAP program. * Initiate and support activities for parents and teachers of participating students. * Implement and manage the Title 1/LAP reading program within guidelines in collaboration with building administrators and the Federal Programs Department. * Work effectively and cooperatively with community, parents, teachers and administrators.QUALIFICATIONS: * Fluently bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English * Valid Washington Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements. * Reading Recovery certification or reading endorsement preferred. * Language Acquisition certification/education preferred. * A minimum of three years recent and successful regular education teaching experience at the K-2 level, OR: Three years successful experience in teaching reading at the K-2 level. * Preferred training and/or experience in the following instructional and management strategies to include:1. Balanced Literacy Program2. Assessment Driven Instruction3. Workshop Model4. Comprehensive Intervention Model5. Professional Learning Communities6. Quality School Theory7.
