Title: Regional Vice President of Operations
Location: Boston, MA
Job Summary:
This Regional Vice President position is responsible for oversight of day-to-day operations for VHA New England region. This includes the coordination of all member services, accountability for member relations and achievement of each region's operating and financial plans. This position will also provide support to the regional Board. Further, this role provides direct leadership and strategic direction for the Market Management function, ensures connection and integration with Supply Chain and Clinical and Performance Improvement Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to and closely collaborates with the Executive Officer on all business matters of the region
- Oversees the day-to-day operations for the region
- Leads the Market Management function, including directly managing a team of Directors/Senior Directors
- Coordinates all member services and ensure linkage across strategic, core functions (e.g., supply chain, clinical, network services)
- Drives implementation and achievement of work plans/goals for the region
- Partners with Area SVP and District Sales VP to develop and support membership growth and retention strategies
- Contributes to the strategic planning process of the region
- Develops strong, collaborative relationships with the leadership of VHA national service lines
- Manages the financial function for the region - including budget preparation, audit and support of the Board's Finance and Audit Committees
- Develops relationships with regional Board and 'C' level execs to strengthen and promote VHA value
- Supports executive officer on all board matters for the region
- Applies knowledge of health care industry trends and best practices to influence regional and national direction, member operations and service offerings
- Identifies and implements activities and opportunities of integration between both previous regions
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of in health care - preferably with a background in sales, marketing and/or supply chain management
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in business or health care (MBA, MHA) is preferred
- Experience and/or skills in consulting, hospital operations management, health care financial management, strategic planning and relationship management desired
- Experience with VHA desirable
- Interaction with all levels of executive leadership
- Leadership experience - including the ability to manage, coach and develop direct and indirect reports
- Established track record of meeting both team and individual business goals
- Proven ability to successfully collaborate with multiple, diverse partners and stakeholders
- In depth knowledge of healthcare trends, issues and best practices is preferred
- Advanced communication and political skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Travel in the region 50-75%
