We are a grant-funded program through the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). MHCP services all EEC affiliated childcare programs, including family child care programs, Head Start programs and afterschool programs within southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands. The mission of MHCP is to strengthen the abilities of child care programs to increase healthy social and emotional development in children ages 0-14. MHCP is comprised of a team of early childhood, mental health, and education specialists who work to enhance the social and emotional development of all children in early education and care centers.
Job Description:
Master's level professional needed to work as a Mental Health Consultant for preschools, day cares, family child care settings and before/after school care programs. The qualified candidate will observe individual children, assess their social skills and provide consultation to staff and parents/guardians around the needs of children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. The Behavioral Consultant will also conduct teacher and parent trainings and link families to appropriate community resources.


Requirements

Entrance Requirements:
? Master's degree in social work or mental health/ early childhood education or related field
? Experience working with young children and families
? Experience developing goal oriented behavior plans for classrooms
? Experience providing mentoring or consultation to child care programs, preferred
? Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
? Bilingual, Spanish preferred.
