Position Details: Responsible for ensuring international patients have a great experience at University Hospitals. Translates and assists patients with a wide range of hospital stay needs including registration, travel, financial needs, etc. Assists Arabic speaking patients/ escorts with ancillary services such as airline reservations and banking (opening & closing) and the shipping of deceased bodies. Assists Arabic and Spanish speaking patients by interpreting their medical problems into English for our medical staff and interpreting our staffs explanation to the patients. Facilitates patient arrival and departure orientation process. Receives and responds to all visitors and calls to the Center for International Relations. Interacts with hospital staff and patient family members to ensure patients are appropriately cared for. Tracks embassy authorizations and insurance coverage for international patients. Adequately and accurately reports information in the patient logs. This position requires the ability to perform medical interpretation for patients. Applicants must be fluent in English, Arabic. Position Requirements: Must be fluent in English,andArabic.Prefer fluent in Arabic and Spanish. Must have understanding of Middle Eastern culture, international and domestic travel. Work experience in a health care or customer service environment preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful. Must be detail-oriented and organized.Notable client service, communication and relationship building skills required.Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment required.
