Description

This position reports to the Executive Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications. The Web Communications Director is responsible for the College’s web presence including the external BHCC website and other mediums including social media. This position requires a strong understanding of the integrated concept of content management and delivering to various mediums including websites, portals, mobile, and social media.

  • Complete / roll out the new website project which is near completion. This website is built in Terminal Four Web Content Management System (CMS). Administrator training will be provided, but must have similar CMS experience.
  • Manage all aspects of the website to keep it up and running. This includes communicating with Terminal Four and Other vendors on support tickets as well as backups and enhancements.
  • Implement and manage a coordinated master web calendar for the Home Page, high-level content pages, and other mediums which may be part of a project or initiative.
  • Manage web communications staff including Web Specialist, part-time staff, and student interns.
  • Manage department budget, staffing and contracts of services including web and hosting agreements.
  • Manage the bi-annual web content review cycle and the online catalog process with web communication team and content stakeholders within the Terminal Four system.
  • Oversee training and on-going support to content stakeholders on managing content in the website.
  • Monitor and prepare reports for the Executive Director on trends, website statistics, usability utilizing Google Analytics and other web monitoring tools.
  • Establish protocols for web and social media/multi-media guidelines and adherence to style guides.
  • Off hours support for emergencies and College closings required as needed.
  • Collaborate with other IMC directors to create and integrate web strategies and web marketing to promote the College’s programs and services to internal and external audiences including prospective students.
  • Implement a social media plan and directory for the College.
  • Participate in various committees including the Portal committees and provide guidance on content and design.



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Digital Communications, Communications, Marketing, Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum five years working with a large scale Content Management System website with at least two years of supervisory and project management experience.
  • Understanding the role of content strategy and architecture and how the content varies from print vs. online.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication along with proficiency in writing and editing for online content including social media.
  • Working knowledge and skills in Creative Suite 5.5+ including Dreamweaver and Photoshop; CSS, jquery, xml, html.
  • Solid understanding of web development tools and skills, and various roles managing a content management system.
  • Comfortable with both the MAC and PC operating systems.
  • Experience with a large scale website redesign and/or migration.
  • Utilized standard tools and validators including W3C, Google Analytics, Firefox Webmaster Tools, and accessibility.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse faculty, staff, and students population

Salary Range: $70,000.00-$75,000.00
