Description

The Associate Director of Clinical Operations (MLTC) is responsible for clinical and medical management activities necessary to support successful operation and continued expansion of United Healthcare’s Long Term Care programs including assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluation activities.
 
This position provides leadership to, and is accountable for, the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff and will provide direction and oversight to Clinical Managers supporting the Long Term Care Clinical Enrollment and Care Coordination functions.  The Associate Director ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines pertaining to clinical services for managed long term care programs and personal care services, oversees clinical performance improvement efforts pertaining to managed long term care and ensures all pertinent policy and procedure is being followed.  The Director identifies, communicates and holds staff accountable for performance expectations; monitors/appraises the job results/performance and promotes a positive, team-oriented work environment.
 
In addition, the associate director will participate as a Business Lead or member on assigned teams addressing organization priorities and will support the Executive Director, Long Term Care to assure management solutions for clinical operations and support processes.
 
 
Responsibilities/scope
Interacting with all levels of management enterprise-wide, ensuring that clinical operations/programs meet the needs of members and providers
Ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing
Directing or participating in the hiring, orientation, ongoing training and performance evaluation of the Program Managers
Providing effective coaching and mentoring skills which enhance direct reports' development and performance
Ensuring effective financial management
Ensuring that corporate compliance regulations and program initiatives are followed
Ensuring effective communication and collaboration between national teams and  functional units instrumental in supporting successful operations of Long Term Care plans 
Implementing vision and strategic goals based on organizational priorities
Demonstrating understanding of and commitment to organizational values
Overseeing and directing change initiatives consistent with the goals and growth strategies of the organization and plan




Requirements

Qualifications:
 
BS required, MS/MBA highly preferred
3+ years operational and clinical management experience with senior programs, preferably a Managed Long Term Care program
Knowledge of NY Medicaid and Medicare regulations
Knowledge of Managed Care operations
Experience working with chronically ill, disabled and/or frail/elderly population in a community setting
MS Office proficiency
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong management and interpersonal skills
