Position Description:
 
Jobs in this function provide coding and coding auditing services directly to providers. This includes the analysis and translation of medical and clinical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, or illnesses into designated numerical codes.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coding Specialist reviews documentation and assigns appropriate codes to Inpatient encounters for Highline Medical Center.
  • Position is located at client site
  • Production expectation is to code approximately 300 encounters per month as well as outpatient encounters and edits; position generates revenue by resolving coding claims in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Moderate work experience within own function.
  • Some work is completed without established procedures.
  • Basic tasks are completed without review by others.
  • Supervision/guidance is required for higher level tasks.




Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CCS or RHIT coding certification.
  • 2+ years of Inpatient Coding experience.
  • Familiarity with physician coding process.

Assets:

  • Experience navigating Meditech & 3M computer coding.
  • Outpatient Coding experience.
  • Knowledge of CMS and Coding Clinic guidelines.
