The Chrysler Quality Organization is currently seeking a Durability Engineer professional to join our Quality team at Arizona Proving Grounds. The Durability Engineer serves as the voice of the customer and is responsible for vehicle durability testing to ensure that all potential customer issues are identified, reported and resolved prior to product launch.
The selected candidate must work well independently and in team settings. They need to be self-directed, self-sufficient and assist others as required. He/she must possess the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where change is common. The Durability Team Leader must be a creative problem solver, proactive and steadfast in the identification and resolution of vehicle issues. The selected individual will have experience in managing cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automobile, manufacturing and quality landscape and present outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must be a high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style and demeanor, effectively persuades others to resolve potential customer issues. Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity.
The specific qualifications for are:
* Responsibility for issue identification, collecting and analyzing all data
* Conduct hands-on vehicle evaluations
* Display excellent root cause analysis skills
* Use vehicle diagnostic tools
* Report and document vehicle issues and observation
* Schedule all vehicle testing and inspections
* Direct drivers, mechanics and technicians
* Ensure compliance with common business practices
* Participate in external and internal on-site events
* Present identified vehicle issues to senior leadership, release engineers, management
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to build partnerships both internally and externally and to influence without direct authority
* Capable of planning and prioritizing including the ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and create action plans
* Strong communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership

In setting high standards in the six types of quality: reliability, dissatisfaction, regulatory, perceived, performance, and service, Chrysler's product line and customer experience has improved dramatically. The teams within the Quality Organization are empowered to improve customer satisfaction for their system or area. Basic Qualifications:
* BSME, BSEE
* Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in a fast-paced environment
* Background which includes hands-on vehicle diagnostic and inspection experience
* Experience working in a lean/flat organization with cross functional skills
* Knowledge of vehicle systems (BIW, exterior, interior, chassis, electrical, hands on knowledge of high performance vehicles)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands on experience with vehicle system integration
* Familiar with data acquisition and data process techniques
