Position Information *Please note that a verbal and written English/Spanish language assessment is required for this position.* This position is responsible for determining client eligibility for identified financial assistance programs when patient is deemed as indigent or self-pay. This position initiates appropriate financial referrals to ensure patient sponsorship and payment of clinical physician services. This position also assists with the coordination of managed care authorizations for all WakeMed Faculty Physicians services. Understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values and management of WakeMed Faculty Physicians. Experience Requirements: Two years of experience in a healthcare setting related to third party payers. Working knowledge of insurance and managed care industries. Basic medical diagnosis and procedure coding knowledge preferred. Medical terminology knowledge preferred. Select Education Type: High school graduate. Associate degree or college level courses in business or related field preferred.
