Fay School, 25 miles west of Boston, seeks a dynamic and flexible individual who loves teaching and understands how to engage elementary school children in the acquisition of a world language. Building on Fays existing world languages program, this teacher will collaborate with colleagues and teach courses in grades PK through six . The Schools world language programs are culture-based and emphasize language, both spoken and written. A FLEX program is offered in Primary School (Grades PK 2), with half a year in Spanish and half a year in French. Students in Grades 3-6 choose either French or Spanish in a FLES model. This position is full time with benefits. As an independent day and boarding school, we expect teachers to become involved in the life of the school. Beyond classroom work, teachers serve as advisors to groups of four to six students, coach or assist in our after-school athletic program, and participate in Fays boarding program as campus residents or off-campus faculty members. NOTES: Additional Salary Information: Based on experience and education Requirements The position requires the ability to teach both French and Spanish. Candidates must have a bachelors degree in either French or Spanish, and appropriate fluency in French and in Spanish . A masters degree is strongly preferred, either in French, Spanish, or in education. 3-5 years teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
