As the Manager, Key Stakeholder Communications on the Strategic Communications team, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of assigned writing projects. You will be responsible for writing and editing communications targeting key stakeholders, with a special focus on Global Corporate Leadership companies, policymakers and community partners. Collaborates with other members of the Brand Strategy and Marketing team to ensure internal and external communications are brand compliant. Serves as advisor and coach to all United Way Worldwide staff in the implementation of United Way Worldwide's writing style guide.

Your responsibilities/essential duties:

1. Write and edit products developed and produced by the Communications and Brand team across a variety of communications media (print, video, digitial, social). Collaborates with other members of the Brand Strategy and Marketing team and United Way Worldwide staff to create communications that are on brand and aligned with the Message Platform Communications Guide.

2. Keeps the United Way Worldwide writing style guide up-to-date and advises and coaches United Way Worldwide staff on the implementation of the style guide to help create consistency and alignment of language with brand strategy and message across the organization.

3. Responsible for writing and editing Global Corporate Leadership company communication and recognition. Write, research and help execute monthly newsletter to corporate partners. Proactively look for opportunities to recognize companies, as well as strategize story ideas to recognize corporate partners and communicate United Way priority initiatives.

4. Management of several ongoing awards programs and projects including Spirit of America Award program and Common Good Awards program - their process, judging, creating communications around the awards, providing and executing on direction for creation of collateral materials and assuring proper recognition of winners.

5. Working closely with Studio and other Brand team members in writing, drafting and editing marketing materials: assist in writing and proofreading communication materials, such as brochures, flyers, fact sheets, success stories, press releases, campaign materials, letters, and other turn-key tools for companies and account managers, policy makers and community partnersâ'consult and offer assistance to other departments on goals, content, design and printing of collateral when necessary and as needed.

6. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree.

Experience Required:
4 to 6 years of prior relevant work experience. Requires advanced writing and editing knowledge and skills, demonstrated ability to write for multi-media. Foreign language competency as well as having lived or worked outside of the United States preferred; Spanish and Latin America a strong plus. Strong knowledge of multiple data and content management systems is highly valued, as is strong knowledge of multiple social media channels and the ability to repurpose content across multiple communications platforms. Editorial and journalism experience are highly valued. Experience in creative collaboration as a member of a creative team is a plus. Additionally, this position requires strong relationship and coaching skills and experience; ability to interact with all levels of staff. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent project management skills. Candidates need to be able to think about paid (or PSA), earned, shared and owned media. The Communications team managers will need the ability to repurpose content for various formats e.g. press release to blog post to newsletter⦠and pinch hit for each other. Communications team managers must be able to think, plan, do and innovate. Candidates will be required to provide communications credentials -- samples of three best pieces of work.
