Sodexo is currently seeking a Food Operations Manager to support our services for the Plainfield School District located in Plainfield, NJ. Overseeing a staff of 60-70 unionized employees and reporting directly to the General Manager, this position will be rsponsible for successful administration of the breakfast and lunch programs for 10 schools and several satellite locations (local travel between facilities is required). In addition, this role will focus on significant catering activities which will range from box lunches to high end plated dinners. This is a highly demanding year-round account that will require some nights, weekends and holidays.
Our ideal candidate will be a focused and passionate food service leader with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and ever changing environment. The demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team and proactively communicate will be required. Solid financial acumen and culinary experience is highly desirable. National school lunch program experience is a plus.

Manages all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and directly supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 4 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
