Job Developer - Bilingual-Spanish - P02779 Tracking Code 213200-023 Job Description Position Objective: Within the context of a welfare-to-work continuum, WeCARE provides a full range of social and medical evaluation, case management, job readiness, job placement and retention services to individuals with disabilities, with a focus on developing customized goals based on individual strengths and limitations and moving individual toward economic independence. Develops employment opportunities and place WeCARE participants into jobs appropriate to their backgrounds. Maintain active liaison with employers/companies to create steady opportunity for WeCARE participants to enter the workforce. Maintains ongoing contact with potential employers and coordinates job placement activities with vocational counselors and WeCARE participants. Essential Functions: * Contacts employers by mail, phone, e-mail, and in person to develop appropriate job openings; prepares job orders. * Conducts extensive outreach to employers and potential employers to market WeCARE participants, to increase pool of employers, increase job bank listing, and develop new job orders. * Develops jobs based on participants IPEs and with customized accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Required Skills * High School diploma or GED required, B.A. in marketing, employment, or business field preferred. A.A. with Job development or marketing/sales background will be considered. * Must speak Spanish fluently. * Prior sales, marketing, employment counseling or job development experience required. * Knowledge of job development strategies required. * Ability to effectively develop desirable job orders for unskilled job seekers * Knowledge of labor market trends in a range of occupational fields (professional, skilled, semi-skilled and industrial). * Previous contacts with employers preferred. * Understanding of the special (employment) needs of economically and socially disadvantaged individuals preferred. * Understanding of the special employment needs of individuals with disabilities preferred. * Familiarity with use of computerized job banks preferred. * Ability to outreach, network, and market participants and program * Ability to motivate participants toward full-time, entry-level employment * Ability to motivate placed participants toward the retention of entry-level employment * Basic computer software literacy and computer usage experience. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent organizational skills.
