Position Description:

 

This individual will be part of the start-up team for UnitedHealth Care Military and Veterans. The candidate for this role is a critical member of the referral management leadership team. The Team Lead of Referral Management is responsible to supervise a team of individuals who will process referrals for TRICARE beneficiaries. Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible to assume leadership for assigned start-up activities and deliverables for the TRICARE contract in the West region that includes business processes, system set-up and testing, policy and procedure development,  performance metric design, and preparing all for operations
  • Once operational, assume the supervisor role of  the team
  • Day to day management of all team activities, personnel management, data management/analysis, and issue resolution
  • Other duties as assigned




Requirements

Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of prior experience processing referrals and authorizations for beneficiaries/members enrolled in health plans
  • 3+ years of team lead or supervisory experience
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 NAC form SF86.

Assets:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care or business preferred
  • Previous experience operating and managing call centers and/or other medical or healthcare administrative production environment
  • Workforce management experience is a plus
  • Prior military or federal program experience within healthcare preferred

As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group’s contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf86.pdf, (the National Agency Check or “NACâ€).  Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role.  NAC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense.  Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.  Failure to obtain final NAC approval will result in termination from this role.
