U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company's role is to responsibly manufacture and market USSTC brands to adult tobacco consumers in a financially disciplined way, and to provide marketing services to PM USA for its smokeless products. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Process Technician to join our Product Development Operations department in Richmond, VA.
The successful candidate is responsible for producing test market and prototypes for USSTP conventional tobacco and adjacent products by setting up, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment and/or unit operations within Product Develop Operations.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Operating test instrumentation which measures the physical characteristics of in-process and finished product
- Provividing calibration and machine maintenance of processing and test equipment, adhering to quality systems, safety and environmental policies, procedures and work instructions

Requirements |
Qualifications include:
- Associate's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical/industrial experience
- Experience in tobacco processing operations is desired
- Strong mechanical aptitude to set up, operate and adjust equipment used throughout our product development Operations
- Capable of understanding complex test plans and operating procedures
- Must possess effective communication and technical skills to collaborate with management, engineers and other technicians to resolve processing problems and develop new processing capabilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, databases and other computer based applications such as HMI's and PLC's
- Capable of operating forklifts and other motorized vehicles
