Job Description
Attends the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to provide for optimum peri-operative experience. Knowledge of anatomy, instrumentation, patient safety and sterile technique.

Basic Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited and/or hospital approved Surgical Technician program. Required to fulfill the educational process and have documented on a skill check list which is kept current on each individual in the department. Surgical Tech experience required.

Other Qualifications:
Previous abdominal transplant experience preferred. Certification preferred. Principles of aseptic technique; orientation of surgical procedures; preparation, operation and care of equipment and machines; understands patient and staff safety recommendations. Capable of rapid accurate reactions; concern for quality patient care; communicates and works effectively with various levels of personnel; stands and walks major portion of work schedule; moderate to heavy lifting required; exposure to cuts, burns, infection, biohazardous chemicals and x-ray

Schedule Details: Monday-Friday; 10 hour varied day shifts; Extensive on-call responsibilties
Weekend Schedule: Rotating on-call

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when a job offer is extended. The minimum pay rate for this position is $16.05 per hour.
