Description

Duties and Responsibilities:The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, College of Arts andSciences, Loyola University Chicago (LUC), seeks a qualified candidate for anewly authorized position as Instructor of Spanish/German, beginning AcademicYear (AY) 2013-2014. The successful candidate for the position will be joininga department with nearly 20 fulltime faculty members and more than 375 majorsand minors. The Spanish program is well-established, and a new German StudiesMinor will be starting in AY 2013-2014. For more information about theDepartment of Modern Languages and Literatures, please visit its website athttp://w.luc.edu/modernlang/. The teaching load of the position is four courses each semester (fall 2013 andspring 2014) with a possible course reduction for administrative duties. Thecourses in German will be at all levels of German language and culture. Thecourses in Spanish will be in the beginning Spanish-language sequence(101-102), including a special course taught within the International LearningCommunity as well as medical Spanish and translation courses.Minimum Education or Experience:Candidates should hold an advanced degree in either German or SpanishLanguages or Literatures and possess a track record of excellence in teachingboth German and Spanish. Candidate should also have the ability, experience,and skills to coordinate course sections within the Spanish and GermanCurricula.
