Sourcing Executive, Custom Contracting
Location: Irving, TX
Job Summary:
This position reports to the Director of Custom Contracting. The Custom Contracting Sourcing Executive is a strategic sourcing resource dedicated to a large integrated delivery network or regional purchasing coalition and is charged with delivering best in class contracting strategies and supply chain analytics that result in supply chain cost reductions. The custom sourcing executive will accomplish this by developing a customer specific contract strategy to reduce spend, improving operational efficiencies, maximizing delivered value and ultimately achieve a higher level of member satisfaction by becoming a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibility-meet/exceed established cost savings goals by:
Developing a project plan to meet savings goals;
Working with hospital and Novation contracting teams to develop enhancements to existing Novation national agreements;
Negotiating hospital and Novation specific terms and conditions while maintaining best price;
Insuring implementation of contract pricing by conducting supply chain activities necessary to achieve cost savings;
Communicating successes, opportunities and challenges to VHA, UHC, Novation leadership and hospital key stakeholders;
Conducting ongoing price monitoring and contract maintenance to assure market relevant pricing;
Developing strong relationships with hospital key stakeholders while understanding VHA, UHC and Novation internal relationship structure;
Maintaining strong business relationships with manufacturers across all product lines to include medical/surgical, pharmacy, cardiology, capital equipment, facilities, food, laboratory, respiratory, radiology, and the like.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, either in business or health care related field preferred; MBA, a plus;
5 to 7 years progressive experience in marketing, sales or contract management / clinical in a health care organization;
A strong health care contracting background is preferred with a focus on successful contract negotiations;
Excellent communication skills;
Excellent project management skills;
Ability to excel in a matrix environment;
Strong relationship building and strategic partnering skills;
Ability to understand and conduct financial analysis and quantitative / qualitative assessment of data;
25% travel required.
