The Diesel Application Engineer is responsible for the overall design, development, verification and release of diesel engines in future model year passenger cars and light duty trucks. The Engineer will manage all aspects of the application and utilize their experience in diesel engine technology, design and development to ensure the seamless integration of engine and vehicle. Vehicles with world class NVH, performance and fuel economy are the expected outcome.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent Engineering
degree
* Minimum of 3 years of industry project/engineering leadership experience
* Minimum of 2 years of diesel application experience in any combination of engine,
transmission, controls, vehicle adaptation or NVH design and/or development
* Capable of a broad scope of responsibility
* Professional verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work in teams and must have excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent Engineering
degree from an ABET accredited university
* Automotive industry experience
* Global business experience
* Team leadership experience
