The Cables/Compensators/Actuators Engineer - Seat Engineering is responsible to develop and maintain a portfolio of supplier cables, compensators and actuators. In development of the cables, compensators and actuators portfolio, the position requires benchmarking industry offerings and performing/oversight of virtual simulations as required. The Cables/Compensators/Actuators Engineer will support the seat system design/development teams in integration of various cables compensators and actuators to meet quality, performance, CWI and functional objectives. Develop and author design practices, lessons learned, DFMEA's, and DVP&R's as required.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university, or other degree with equivalent experience
* 5 years engineering experience
* 5 years of experience in seat structures or complete seat design/development from concept to launch
* Experience with federal and international regulatory requirements and third party assessments related to seat validation
* Experience with simulation tools related to efficiency losses and routing/placement of cables, compensators and actuators
* Ability to effectively communicate technical content
* Relevant experience with automotive seat engineering, testing, manufacturing and assembly
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Experience with all components within seat engineering (foam, soft trim, injection molded plastics, stampings, etc.)
* Chrysler Corporate systems, Team Center/NX
* Team oriented, self-managed/directed, self-starter
* Strong analytical skills with a goal/target minded discipline
* DFSS experience preferred
