The Chassis Product Engineer will have system/component release responsibility for jack and spare tire winch assemblies, tow hooks, trailer hitch, powertrain protection skid plates, and other structural chassis components. Responsibilities include design for vehicle functional and packaging requirements using a DFSS approach, DVP-driven product development and validation, structures engineering/analysis, release documentation to meet program timing, and cost reduction activities. Position requires interface with suppliers and internal cross-functional areas within Chrysler. Experience in structural development and validation a plus (review/approval of data acquisition plan and vehicle instrumentation, analysis of service loads and component damage/stress/life predictions, development/approval of test procedures, set-ups, data files, and results load analysis).
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an ABET accredited university
* Minimum of 2 years system and component release experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
* DFSS training and practical experience
* Experience in structural development and validation
* Experience with Chrysler release systems
