Physical Location: Chrysler Headquarters & Tech Center
The Product Design Engineer will work closely with designers, CAE groups, and interfacing component engineers to optimize designs and develop DVP&R's to ensure that functional objectives and durability goals are met. The engineer will participate in post-test reviews including failure analysis, and work closely with suppliers and manufacturing plants to ensure that design changes are robust and feasible for manufacturing. The successful candidate must be able to learn quickly, be able to comfortably interface with people at multiple levels of the corporation, be able to lead and provide clear direction to suppliers and design staff, and be able to work as part of a cross functional team.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field
* Working knowledge of automotive engines including components and their function
Preferred Qualifications:
* Three years' powertrain component design and release experience at an OEM or tier 1 supplier
* DFSS certification
* Knowledge of aluminum casting manufacturing and machining processes
* Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
