Positions are contingent upon funding and departmental need.Re-employment in subsequent quarters in academic year 2013 - 2014 may be possible as openings in the department occur for which the applicant is qualified. Such re-employment is contingent upon a satisfactory evaluation of the applicant's teaching performance, curricular need, and funding.StatusQuarterly Adjunct Lecturer: 2013 - 2014 Academic YearQualificationsPh.D. or A.B.D. or M.A. in Spanish. Native- or near-native level fluency in Spanish. Commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching courses at the college level. Must have expertise and experience with ACTFL Standards-based teaching and assessment and instructional technologies. Must have the ability to serve as mentor to students of diverse backgrounds. The following areas of expertise are highly desirable: Second Language Acquisition/Pedagogy; OPI certified tester.Rank and SalaryLecturer, Quarterly Part Time; $5,800 per course.Starting DateFall quarter: Classes begin September 23, 2013Winter quarter: Classes begin January 6, 2014Spring quarter: Classes begin March 31, 2014Application DeadlineJune 7, 2013ResponsibilitiesDuties include fulfilling all responsibilities associated with teaching assigned courses, including:1. Conducting all assigned class meetings and individual conferences with students;2. Assigning and evaluating student work including exams and written assignments;3. Holding weekly office hours on campus;4. Submitting student grades to the Student Records by the designated deadline; and5.
