Social Worker -Bilingual Birch Family Services Back to Search FormDetailsLocation: NY - New York Job Type: EducationBase Pay: N/A Required Education: Not SpecifiedBonus: Required Experience: Not SpecifiedOther: Required Travel: Not SpecifiedEmployee Type: Full-Time Relocation Covered: NoIndustry Education - Teaching - Administration Job ID: Description Bilingual Social Worker Needed in Washington Heights Now through Summer *The Bilingual Social Workerwill providesupport to staff at the preschool, while working collaboratively with students, parents and families.Position Accountabilities* Observes and participates in classrooms to which he/she is assigned and offers consultation regarding family/child interactions, family dynamics, and communicating with the family and the students overall functioning within the classroom and residential setting. * Provides a variety of group forums to discuss the problems associated with raising a learning disabled child and to facilitate better parenting and advocacy skills, and intervenes therapeutically on an as-needed basis. * Adheres to the school philosophy regarding behavior management and implements all relevant techniques appropriately. * Participates in all activities and meetings relevant to the position or required by supervisor (e.g., Initial and Annual Reviews; Parent/Teacher Conferences, Open School Night, Residential Visits, Parent Center meetings; Team, Department and Classroom Meetings, etc. * Performs other duties as assigned. RequirementsRequirements:LMSW or LCSW and experience working with school-age children with special needs.Hours of Work: 8AM-3PM, F/T or P/T , NYS certification as a school social worker with extension required.
