Job Description:
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.
Active programs conducting multicenter clinical trials exploring novel patient-centered interventions to improve care, ongoing prospective observational studies in emergency cardiac (and other) conditions, systematic reviews, and health records review studies assessing compelling clinical questions that drive emergency care decisions. The fellow will have the opportunity to be mentored by an emergency physician experienced in health services research and gain experience in how to conduct health services research including but not limited to advancing his or her knowledge of and experience in the design, conduct, and analysis of research studies, presenting study findings at national academic meetings and participating in manuscript writing. The fellow will play a key role in a multidisciplinary research team of study coordinators, nurse coordinators, and investigators working together to improve the patient experience of care and clinical outcomes through research.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere. - Overall assessment of potential for success in research environment.

- Original or notarized copy of diploma or final transcript issued by school (English translation required).
Other Qualifications:
Experience in health services research is preferred. A team player who is personable, industrious, intellectually talented, and able and willing to flexibly work with a dynamic team of study coordinators and investigators in an emergency care setting.
