Supports Health Information Exchange (HIE) Operations Team goals by partnering with internal and external customers to ensure current and future HIE capabilitiestranslate into significant business and clinicalimprovements. Responsible for workflow consulting, analysis, training and design across a broad spectrum of internal departments and external partners. Supports clients using project management and process improvement methods, effectively organizing and utilizing organizational assets and best practices.Will be responsible for partnering with the IT team and various other teams within KP to ensure customer satisfaction during implementation and that the capabilities the stakeholder needs are delivered as expected.Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities and applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards. Appropriately reports observed fraud or abuse.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess and design technology integrated clinical workflows which allow KP and Alliance Partner Physicians to provide comprehensive quality patient care at the right time, anytime, and at the point of care.
  • Assess and design technology integrated workflows to support clinic operations, and business needs.
  • Consults with internal customers to assist in requirements development for active implementations.Works with stakeholders to define and implement both systems and process solutions to promote efficient workflows
  • Develops and manages relationships with external organizations to include: hospitals, physician groups, and service partners. Act as liaison between KP and external organizations to achieve maximum benefit for internal stakeholders
  • Provides internal and external communication and training for new HIE capabilities.Presents functionality and other key requirements and design information to the stakeholder community
  • Trains individuals and groups (in-person and via virtual tools) on external organizations portal capabilities and EMR and navigation
  • Serves as a liaison to multiple KP departments and functional areas.
  • Identifies key care delivery and business needs which require new interoperability capabilities.
  • Identifies customer needs (e.g. demonstrations of functionality, training, etc.) that may arise through the engagement process
  • Integrates varied stakeholders' interest in pursuit of a combined goal.
  • Makes formal presentations to various audiences with persuasive results.
  • Identifies and evaluates significant Performance Improvement opportunities. Provides ongoing recommendations for streamlining operational processes and administering workflow revisions.
  • Identifies industry trends, conducts research to understand key issues, and applies to Kaiser Permanente.
  • Partners w/ Director and Project Sponsors to build business cases to assist with prioritizing projects
  • Prioritizes work based on multiple and sometimes competing objectives.
  • Partners with necessary team members to prioritize enhancement requests
  • Takes ownership and resolves issues as they arise. Responsible for analyzing and resolving functional problems
  • Develops and maintains onboarding and registration processes for Alliance Partner portals and/or EMR
  • Understands the customer service expectations in order to survey, measure and improve customer satisfaction
  • Evaluates customer feedback and taking action to improve customer satisfaction as needed
  • Forms effective partnerships at the senior level through collaboration that impact overall service delivery
  • Participates in strategic planning, forecasting, revenue and expense management, and future FTE planning


Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or 4 years of equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in analysis of business processes and business case development to support IT solutions.
  • Two years experience in process design and workflow consulting.
  • Experience working in a complex corporate environment; at least one project completed with estimated value of greater than $1 million in project benefit.
  • Knowledge of and exposure to current health care issues and health information exchange initiatives.
  • Experience involving organizational culture change highly preferred.
  • Experience with formal project management preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills with all levels of the organization, demonstrated experience making presentations to small and large groups.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to assess complex situations and data, and reduce it to important and actionable tactics.
  • Strong emotional intelligence skills required. Politically astute.
  • Experience working on Information Technology implementations preferred.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, quality management, or a related field is preferred.
