Sodexo Campus Services has an exciting new career opportunity for a highly motivated, customer-oriented experienced Food Service Retail Manager at Grand Canyon University, located in Phoenix, AZ - Grand Canyon University is one of the fastest growing universities in the country, anticipating growing from 6800 students to 9000 enrolled in 2013. The Retail Manager will oversee 2 convenience stores, a Subway, a large Starbuc'ks store, a Chix-fil-A, with more retail spaces in the planning.
The ideal candidate will
have previous Campus or Corporate upper level Food Retail Manager experience - preferably in progressive cafeteria / Resident dining environment and w/oversight of multipl national retail brands/venues/concepts;
demonstrate a strong culinary knowledge and understanding of food and be open to creatively meeting the needs of the varied student population;
actively engage with the campus staff and students to improve their involvement in an innovative approach to healthy living;
Showcase skills of communication, innovation, initiative, customer service, marketing and merchandising to be able to meet the high expectations of this growing university.
There is Relocation Assistance for this position.
Maintains food quality and customer service in a cash handling retail food operation that includes branded concepts, in-house formats and signature designs. May assume GM's responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/HR functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
