Job Description
The Nurse Clinician in the clinic setting is accountable for the coordination of nursing care and patient education for patients and their significant others, through use of the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care across the continuum. The Nurse Clinician triages the acuity of patient needs, and provides for patient care accordingly, delegating tasks to other team members, as necessary. The Nurse Clinician role models professionalism while interacting with patients, families and co-workers. The Nurse Clinician provides leadership in various roles that include preceptor, team leader, resource/lead nurse, and committee member. The American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses provide a basis for practice.
The Nurse Clinician in the Anticoagulation Service must be able to work independently and collaboratively to provide safe, accurate and clinically competent anticoagulation care to patients. The Nurse Clinician will collect patient data and will work off standardized protocol to achieve satisfactory patient outcome and INR limits within set guidelines. The Nurse Clinician will function as a strong team member and display professionalism while interacting with patients, families and co-workers. He/she will meet regulatory requirements for equipment use and will follow nursing and clinic polices procedures and standards.

Basic Qualifications:


License or Certification:
Active Wisconsin RN license or ability to practice professional nursing in the state of Wisconsin, Current BLS Certification, Certification in Anticoagulation desirable.

Hours/Pay Period: Per diem
Schedule Details: Monday through Friday- variable start time- day shift. Hours based on the needs of the department. The job does require flexibility in traveling to regional site locations in the NWW Region.
