Job Description
The Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care including patient education and the management of telephone triage in clinical and research settings. This role frequently involves sitting for extended periods of time. The ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and the AAACN Ambulatory Care Nursing Administration and Practice Standards provide a basis for the practice of the registered nurse in the ambulatory setting. The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.

Basic Qualifications:
Graduate of a National League for Nursing (NLN) or or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited Registered Nurse program. All associate degree or diploma registered nurses hired into the Department of Nursing with an RN start date after September 1, 2010, must provide documented evidence of program completion of their baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within 6 years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.

Other Qualifications:
Must obtain Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification within 2 years of start date.

Minimum of two years previous RN experience in ambulatory and/or acute care settings preferred. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the clinical and/or research settings. Computer and keyboarding skills.

License or Certification:
Current Minnesota RN license. Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency.

Hours/Pay Period: Supplemental
Schedule Details: Supplemental, 8-hour Day shifts (7:00am-4:00pm & 8:00am-5:00pm)
Weekend Schedule:

Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $27.91 per hour.
