Texas Connections Academy @ Houston (TCAH) is a Texas Virtual School Network Online School (TxVSN OLS) that offers 100% virtual instruction to public school students across Texas in grades 3-12 who are not physically present on a campus during instruction. The TxVSN OLS program is authorized by Texas Education Code (TEC) Chapter 30A, administered through Texas Education Agency , and was initially known as the Electronic Course Program (eCP). TCAH first opened in December 2008 with a regulatory cap of 100 students. Over the past three years, the school has grown to over 3,0 students. TCAH will offer 12th grade for the 13-14 school year and anticipates enrolling up to 4,0 students. TCAH is accredited through HISD and Connections Education is accredited through AdvancED. Position Summary: Working from our office in Houston, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for daily administrative tasks of the school such as managing contracts for testing sites, invoices, expense reports, answering phones and email, receiving visitors, assisting the principal and teachers with administrative tasks, filing and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Entering data into the online student information system; Generating reports; Answering the phones; Scheduling appointments; Speak with Parents and Students; Translating school documents in to Spanish and interpreting on phone calls; Assist school Principal with a wide variety of daily responsibilities; and Additional duties as assigned. Requirements Proficient with Contract Management Ability to manage billing, invoice preparation and processing Bilingual in English and Spanish Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and web-based applications is essential Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Customer focused approach High degree of flexibility Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced team environment
