The Senior Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service through inbound, outbound, and written correspondence to members and providers on questions pertaining to medical, dental and vision products.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards
  • Respond to complex customer calls (inbound and outbound)
  • Strong writing skills necessary, responsibilities will include responding to member and providers written inquiries.
  • Resolve customer service inquiries which could include:
    • Benefit and Eligibility information
    • Billing and Payment issues
    • Customer material requests
    • Physician assignments
    • Authorization for treatment
    • Explanation of Benefits (EOB)




Requirements

Requirements:
  • An education level of at least a high school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of customer service or office experience using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
  • Basic proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications is required
  • Previous experience working in the healthcare industry is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and professional email (doesn't have to be Outlook) is required
  • Hours of operation are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Must be able to work any shift including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work occasional over time as business needs require
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Available to work 40 hours per week anytime within the operating hours of the site

Assets:

  • Call center experience preferred
  • All bi-lingual language skills are a plus; Japanese is highly preferred
  • Experience with UNET platform is preferred
  • Experience with  ISET platform is preferred 

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to navigate a computer while on the phone
  • Ability to multi-task, this includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product
  • Ability to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitive
  • Prior stable work experience

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer
  • Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activity
