The Transmission Mechanic will work side by side with the current staff to build and test automatic and manual transmissions. Will work within the lab including torque converter build and testing, HEV Hybrid electric vehicles, BEV battery electric vehicles, HEV & e-motor, dyno testing and prototype part fabrications.
Basic Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Minimum 3 years of auto service experience
* Understanding of Automatic Transmission Theory of operation
* Familiarity with a variety of tools (hand, bench and machine)
* Basic computer skills (MS Office)
* Good Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
* Good communication skill excellent work ethic, organization skills and interpersonal skills
* Highly Motivated and Self Starter
* Ability to Work in a Team Environment
* Flexible to work on 1st or 2nd shift (3rd if needed), extended hours, holidays, and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
* Associates degree in Auto Mechanics or similar discipline
* Minimum 2 year experience in Manual and Automatic Transmission Repair
* Skilled in machining and fabrication of prototype parts
* Understanding of Transmission Spin and Dynamometer testing
* ASE or Michigan State Certifications (Automatic Transmission Repair)
