Lead, manage, and successfully execute integrated community development and consumer marketing strategies that build internal and external influencer commitment to kaiser permanente's brand while meeting business partner and consumer channel member ship objectives. Conceive, develop, manage, and oversee execution of integrated consumer retail community event marketing including defining objectives, communication strategies, and plan execution. Ensure that regional and corporate marketing objectives are achieved within budgetary guidelines. Lead the strategy development and coordination and integration of internal, cross-functional kaiser permanente resources and oversee all aspects of our presence at events. Implement project management practices to enhance quality standards as they pertain to event execution. Negotiate contracts with outside vendors such as community organizations, hotels and production companies. Lead, cultivate, and mentor cross functional project team members by providing direction, inspiration, resources, and communication to maximize effectiveness of event planning and execution processes. Establish team goals, clarify expectations, and monitor performance with clear and timely feedback to ensure efficiency. Act as liaison between our team and other business lines to ensure that event marketing efforts meet goals and expectations, tie into corporate initiatives, and support brand messages. Actively participate in business planning, budget planning, theme and agenda development , schedule planning and staffing of community events.

Essential Functions:
- Manage a portfolio of consumer retail initiatives and community partnerships, often simultaneously, keeping accurate track of all milestones, client needs, and project deliverables.
- Demonstrate a high level of expertise and professionalism as a regular ambassador to the larger marketing communications organization; brand advertising; sales and account management; national public relations; regional public affairs and leaders in the permanente medical group.
- Engage closely with each business partner and cross functional teams to help determine the grass roots marketing strategy that will generate leads, drive significant membership growth, including, site selection and special event activities that support objectives.
- Develop a community event strategy that will target potential members in the market.
- Initiate and negotiate contracts and proposals with vendors or sponsors on behalf of clients.
- Lead logistics planning and execution within a mutually agreeable project timeline.
- Manage and track budgets, monitor expenditures to stay within or below budget.
- Interface with event marketing design team for the development of promotional websites, and all other collateral.
- Drive leads and membership through complex, high visibility consumer marketing projects that may entail multiple work streams and demonstrate a strong understanding of the strategic importance of the business they support.



Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years marketing and/or communications experience.
- Excellent time/project management skills.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to negotiate contracts with external vendors.
- Success in a collaborative, cross-functional and multi-cultural work environments.
- Understanding of accounting & budgetary processes.
- Ability to build relationships and coach event teams, supervise staff, delegate, and work with others under aggressive timeframes and stressful situations.
- Interest and experience working extended hours and with frequent travel as needed.
- Proficiency in virtual and social media environments.
- A do what it takes attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience leading direct to consumer marketing programs.
