This position is responsible for providing analytical and process support to the HealthConnect / Epic Operations team and the end users of the various Epic application systems. The Senior AC evaluates functional user requirements and provides recommendations to build, modify, and enhance the respective Epic system accordingly. The AC will interact with vendor and business owners to identify alternate solutions, and risk mitigation strategies. The Senior AC will assist other ACs in developing best practices to improve configuration and documentation processes. This position will also be required to assist management in enhancing the overall utilization of the Epic system. The incumbent will be responsible for rotating through after hours and weekend on call as necessary. This position may require travel throughout the region as necessary addressing system concerns.

Essential Functions

- Serve as subject matter expert on EPIC functionality. Responsible for patient safety, physician satisfaction and SOX requirements associated with software changes.
- Provides technical guidance to peers ensuring that best practices are being leveraged, and common standards and processes are being followed
- Collaborates with physicians, business partners, and IT partners to create and implement solutions for areas of improvement, identify optimization opportunities.
- Responsible for identifying and managing application errors and system enhancement requests.
- Responsible for testing the Epic system, including any configurations, customizations, and new releases, prior to product implementation.
- Troubleshoot and assist the project team with Epic system issues
- Responsible for communicating system changes to the end user and training staff.
- Responsible for configuration of KPHC PCs and printers are configured properly to support the KP GA region business imperatives
- Assists with the development of ongoing maintenance and support procedures for the Epic system.
- Acts as the liaison between the Epic vendor and KP.
- Assists with the design, development, and testing of system.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Will be required to be on call or on site during periods of system cutover (including weekends and off hours)

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Ambulatory Certification (Spring 07 level)
- 2-3 years related Epic systems experience (ex. EpicCare, Cadence, Resolute, Prelude)
- Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good organizational skillls
- Demonstrated proficiency with standard spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- Demonstrated judgment, organizational, planning, and control skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrated proficiency in build work for the EPIC Ambulatory application
- 5 plus years of related experience (7years if Bachelor's degree not present)
- Experience managing system concerns including building, testing, troubleshooting, and managing application and system enhancements and system requests.
- Understanding of Information systems that are pertinent to the management team supported (example: clinicals / billing / accounting / scheduling / claims / etc)
