The Department of Campus Facility Services (CFS) is seeking a Fire Protection Maintenance Manager. Please apply by 6/28/13 job listing #8488.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities include:
Develop and manage a preventive maintenance system for all campus fire safety systems (i.e. fire alarms, fire pumps, fire hoses, fire extinguishers). Manage repairs to fire safety systems. Manage daily work activities of assigned fire protection employees, which includes establishing processes and priorities for work within the assigned area, training employees accordingly, and overseeing all safety, performance and human resource activities as it relates to the assigned employees within the work group.
Follow up and investigate all campus fire alarms. Manage on-call process for 24-7 support to campus for fire safety systems. Coordinate and provide shutdown support as needed in coordination with campus partner.
Manage work group budget in coordination with senior colleagues. Participate in fire system drawing review on new construction and renovation work in coordination with Campus Fire Marshall. Assist with the creation of policies and procedures with regard to campus support functions and related issues.
Work any shift as needed, with 24-hour a day emergency response availability, as well as participate in on-call rotation to cover emergencies on campus.

Requirements |
The successful candidate must have specific knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
o Familiarity with National Incident Management System (NIMS).
o Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and to lead and manage a skilled trades team in a diverse environment.
o Ability to proficiently use Windows-based programs.
o Effective oral and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information to large groups and to a diverse population.
o Demonstrated interpersonal and supervisory skills.
o Valid driver's license and ability to meet the University driving privileges policy
Required: Bachelor's Degree. Three (3) years supervisory experience in fire/safety systems or maintenance field. Combinations of related education and experience will be considered.
