The Product Engineer-Electrified Powertrain, is responsible for the design/development of electric vehicle power electronics and electrified vehicle systems/devices for passenger cars and trucks. The Engineer will develop efficient and cost effective power electronics designs using cutting edge technologies, the latest test and evaluation equipment/laboratory, and robust simulation tools. Successful candidate will define and carry out all required development/validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goals. He/She will participate in supplier assessments and post-test inspection reviews; including detailed failure analysis. Qualified candidate will work closely with the chosen suppliers and manufacturing entities to ensure designs are robust to customer requirements, meet exact function, and are manufacturable without defect. The Engineer will initiate production source packages and execute the design using strong leadership abilities and outstanding teamwork/communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:
* Master's of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in electronics and circuit design and/or development
* Understanding of Electrical Engineering standards/protocols, and of power electronics/devices
* Good analytical and problem solving skills
* Highly motivated and self-starter
* DVP&R and DFMEA experience
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Power electronics/electrical models and simulation experience
* Power electronics specifications expertise
* Software controls experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in Hybrid vehicle power electronics design and development
* Design and release experience
* Strengths in modeling/simulation and FEA
